I searched the CPLAMS website and found a standard for using digital tools. One standard says students should use technology to research and share information. This teaches them to use online resources safely and responsibly. Based on my skills, I think I could use this standard in the classroom because I know how to find information online, but I may need more practice teaching safety and responsibility online.      In the CPALMS Educator Toolkit, I found resources related to English Language Arts for elementary students. One tool was a lesson plan about using digital reading resources. I think these tools can help me plan engaging lessons that use technology, making learning more fun for students. I would use these resources to mix traditional lessons with online activities to meet students' learning needs.      Being good at internet searching is important for teachers because we often need to find resources quickly. I learned about ...

Copyright protects original works from being copied or used without permission. Fair use lets people use small parts of these works for things like teaching or research as long as they follow certain rules. As a teacher, I would make sure to only use materials that fall under fair use or get permission to use them, and I would teach my students to respect others' work when creating their own. I am still curious about how much of a work can be used before it is no longer considered fair use.     One issue with technology today is cyberbullying, where people use devices to hurt others online. To solve this, I would create clear riles about online behavior and teach students about kindness and respect. I would also set up a way fro students to report bullying safely and I would make sure to monitor online activities closely. This way, I could stop problems early and keep the classroom a safe place for everyone.     While working on my newsletter I learned ...

Blog post #2

I have been using Microsoft Word in my classes since we starting using technology. Since I grew up using Office365, I prefer it over any other word processing software such as Google Docs. I have gotten very familiar with this program and use it every day to take notes or other activities for my classes. Microsoft Word has helped me my entire educational career and for that reason I am excited to continue using this platform over the other ones.      The ISTE Standards for Educators help teachers integrate technology effectively in the classroom. The standard that was the most meaningful to me is facilitator. It emphasizes guiding students in using technology to collaborate and solve problems. It is important to create opportunities for student learning with digital tools. One question I have is how to best balance the students independence with the necessary guidance in an environment with such prominent technology.     I agree with the term...

In my intro to educational technology class I hope to learn things that will help me in my future career. I aspire to be an elementary school teacher and would like to learn ways to integrate technology in my classroom. I think that the topics covered in this class are important since there is a huge rise in technology in this day and age and being able to use it to help students learn would be beneficial to not only me as the teacher, but also my students. Hopefully, this class makes me more prepared fro my future in working with kids.     Throughout my years of being a student, technology has been used almost every day. We use websites like Canvas to remind us of our assignments and strengthen the communication between me and my professors. Online is where I can check my grades to make sure I am doing well and view my past assignments any time I want. We often watch educational videos in my classes to strengthen our knowledge of the topics that are requir...
